Nazia is a Solicitor with over 17 years experience in Employment Law and HR.  Having completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in 2002, Nazia started her career as a Consultant in her previous role where she qualified as Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives before she joined Wake Smith in 2022, and latterly qualified as a Solicitor in September 2022.

Nazia advises employers and employees on all areas of Employment Law. Nazia is adept at legal process and advice, with a practical and commercial approach to her client matters.

Throughout Nazia’s career she has gained extensive experience of advising small to medium businesses throughout the UK from Manager to Board level on all aspects of Employment Law, including contracts of employment, policies Directors service agreements, discipline(conduct/performance), some other substantial reason (SOSR) grievance, discrimination, recruitment, family friendly, rights, redundancy (restructures/processes), TUPE, sickness absence management/capability, restrictive covenants, drafting settlement agreements bespoke for clients and support/negotiate mutually agreeable settlement packages.

Nazia regularly supports employers on conducting internal HR procedures and drafts correspondence which complies with statutory requirements, including preparing quantum’s/risk analysis and facilitate ACAS Conciliation to agree out of court/tribunal settlements.
