Children are all too often involved in accidents. Thankfully, most are harmless but when an injury does occur it may well give rise to a claim for compensation.
Whether injury occurs due to a road or cycling accident, at school or nursery, on other people’s premises, caused by a faulty product or play equipment or in any other circumstances involving someone else’s fault, you may be entitled to claim compensation for your child.
Generally children, and especially young children, are not considered to blame for accidents so it is always important to seek specialist legal advice on their rights of claim.
Any injured Claimant aged under 18 has to pursue their claim through a parent or guardian. If the claim is successful the compensation award will normally be invested for the benefit of the child until he or she reaches the age of 18.
The law allows claims to be brought on behalf of injured children at any time up to their 21st birthday, so you shouldn’t be deterred if the accident occurred some time ago.
If your child has had an accident, please contact our specialist lawyers who will be happy to evaluate the prospects for a claim and advise you on whether to pursue it.
