The breakdown of relationships between
adults, and between adults and children,
has become a major feature of everyday
life.
At precisely the time when the parties
involved have to cope with the emotional
stress associated with the breakdown of
relationships, a series of other vitally
important issues, some of which are in
themselves emotionally traumatic, and some
of which are practical, fail to be addressed
for example: family finances, children,
housing and divorce.
We recognise that at this difficult time
it is essential that the parties involved
receive close personal attention and support.
We are experienced in providing practical
advice and guidance and are sensitive to,
and attempt to meet, the needs of the parties
at such a time.
Our team of specialist Family

Concern about costs often prevents people
seeking legal advice. However, many people
will be eligible for legal aid, either
at no cost or with a contribution. Advice
can be given about this at an initial interview.

Booklets for Parents with Learning
Difficulties
Head of the Children Team,
Sarah Jane Lynch and David Hawkins of Barristers
at Bank House have written two booklets
for parents with learning difficulties
whose children are involved in family court
proceedings.
One of the books deals with parents separating
and the other with care proceedings. The
artwork was commissioned from Change, a
disability charity, to make the book accessible
to parents with limited literacy skills.
If you require any further information
about the booklets please contact Sarah
Jane on 0114 266 6660 or email sarah.jane.lynch@wake-smith.com
