Facts:

2 year old Claimant stung repeatedly by wasps which escaped from a nest at the nursery she was attending, run by the Defendants.  This caused significant short-term pain and discomfort and a longer term psychological impact including a phobia of insects.  Liability was contested throughout but a settlement was ultimately reached and approved by the Court.

Evidence:

We instructed experts to prepare reports for the Claimant with regard to:

Consultant in Pest Control (liability)

Consultant Dermatologist (causation and quantum of loss)

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (causation and quantum of loss)

The Proceedings:

The claim was settled following court proceedings.

Settlement:

The claim settled for a value of £8,500 gross plus costs subject to Court approval.
