Wake Smith corporate work shortlisted in six Dealmakers Awards 2026

Wake Smith Solicitors 22 April 2026

Wake Smith Solicitors’ corporate team has been shortlisted for six awards at Insiders’ South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2026.

The team, headed up by director Rebecca Robinson, is shortlisted in the Corporate Law firm of the Year category for the eighth consecutive year, at the event which recognises the region’s leading banking, funding, legal and corporate finance communities, and the best deals they were involved in over the last 12 months.

Rebecca’s already award-winning legal work on the £15m investment package for Castings Technology, to further its aim of becoming one of the largest Titanium foundries in the world, has been selected as a finalist in both the Deal of the Year £10m plus category and the Private Equity Deal of the Year category. This groundbreaking transaction picked up Deal of The Year (£5m to £25m) at the Yorkshire Business Insider’s Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2025.

Tom Haywood’s legal advice on the seed fundraise for Sheffield-founded tech business Siguru Ltd has been selected in the Venture Capital Deal of the Year.

While Wake Smith’s work on the successful management buyouts of Home Decor and L-RES UK are both shortlisted for Deal of the Year (sub £10m).

In the period between April 2025 and March 2026 the team completed deals with a cumulative value of over £100m, more than £20m up on the previous year.

Rebecca said: “This is our highest amount of shortlistings ever at this event and recognises the number of high quality transactions we have led on, or been involved in over the last year. The shortlistings confirm our business connections and reaffirm our input in the varied mix of South Yorkshire based transactions.

“The panel of independent judges has recognised Wake Smith’s contribution and dedication to the business community in South Yorkshire.”

A drinks reception for the shortlisted entrants will take place at The Victoria in Sheffield on 21 May, ahead of the winners being announced at the black-tie awards dinner on 18 June at the Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Hotel.
