Accidents At Work

Have you been the victim of an accident at work? Suffering an injury at work could leave you suffering financial hardship as a result. At Wake Smith we can help you to pursue a claim and ensure you receive the best support and the maximum compensation you are entitled to.

Each year the Health & Safety Executive reports on thousands of accidents at work, many of which could have been prevented by employers providing safer working conditions.

These were associated with a number of occupations such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Slip & trip at work: all work places can be hazardous – even offices and slips and trips can occur anywhere.
  • Building sites: accidents on building sites can affect many occupations due to the lack of preventative measures.
  • Inadequate training: employers have a duty to ensure you are trained for the tasks you carry out.
  • Work-related road accidents: if you drive as part of your job you may be at risk as a result of inadequate training or risk assessments.
  • Farm accidents: often involving heavy machinery or difficult and dangerous terrain.
  • Industrial deafness: employers have a duty to ensure that deafness does not occur as a result of work.
  • Vibration white finger: resulting from persistent use of pneumatic and/or drill tools. It is a progressive condition and could impact severely on your quality of life.
  • Repetitive strain injury: this may occur if work is undertaken without appropriate breaks.
  • Faulty equipment.
  • Ladder falls.

The list is not exhaustive, so if you have experienced an accident at work, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

It is particularly important to seek advice from a specialist lawyer experienced in claims involving accidents at work and we can help with this. We will be happy to offer you initial advice on whether you may have a valid claim entirely without obligation, and we will assist you throughout the claims process if you decide to go ahead.
