Lawyers help kitchen specialists expand into Sheffield

Wake Smith Solicitors 23 August 2017

A specialist independent kitchen design and installation company is expanding into Sheffield with help from city solicitors Wake Smith.

Kitchen Craft Design, which already operates a 4,000 sq ft showroom and 3,000 sq ft warehouse from Chesterfield, has taken new premises on Ecclesall Road – on the site of the former Aga Shop.

Solicitors Wake Smith advised on the lease for the newly refurbished 1,500 sq ft showroom on behalf of managing director Will Toon, who took over the established 30-year-old company from his dad Andrew, four years ago.

The move will see the company, which has quadrupled its turnover to £1.4m with sights on a £2m turnover by next year, target Sheffield and South Yorkshire and expand its 12-strong full-time team and band of sub-contractors.

Will said: “This is an exciting move for the company. We have spent the last five years expanding and it was time to target the Sheffield market for customers wanting high end design and installation.

“The opportunity to locate onto the popular Ecclesall Road area, which has both heavy footfall and traffic, was ideal, and we are looking forward to officially opening in October with a big launch party.

“We love what we do and it shows in every single kitchen we create, from concept to completion.

“From innovative design to installation including appliances, sinks, taps and work surfaces, means we have set the highest standards in innovative design and unrivalled customer service for over 30 years. We are now ready to create stunning, practical kitchens for the people of Sheffield and South Yorkshire.”

Will hopes to expand his team of 12 employees shortly to staff his Chesterfield and Sheffield bases and will be looking for additional kitchen installers and sales staff in the coming months.

Kitchen Craft Design’s partners include Bosch, Neff, Siemens, Quooker, Dekton, Faber, Blanco and Silestone.

Laura Sanderson, solicitor in Wake Smith's commercial property division, said: “We were really pleased to be able to advise on the lease requirements for Will and provide the legal support required in connection with the acquisition of the Sheffield premises as part of the company’s expansion plans.”

Will added: “As a family-owned company we have always used Wake Smith Solicitors – whether it be for residential and commercial property advice or their corporate team for business matters. Their advice has been second to none.”
