Wake Smith Solicitors joined key stakeholders of Sheffield’s leading companies at an exclusive event at Sheffield College.
Liz Shaw, Managing Director, Director and Head of Litigation was invited to attend the college by Andrew Hartley, Deputy Chief Executive at The Sheffield College and Louisa Harrison-Walker, Chief Executive at Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The aim of the event was for business leaders from the city’s leading professional services sector to discuss and understand their skills needs and wider challenges to help shape the college's future curriculum, and to ensure it is aligned with the sectors' needs.
The event, attended by firms including Arup, RBH Properties, BHO and Gradconsult, included an early evening supper at The Silver Plate, courtesy of the College’s highly regarded catering academy.
Liz Shaw said: “This is forward thinking by Sheffield College. Business co-operation has risen to one of the top priorities for many further and higher education institutions.
“The positive impact of senior management engagement, alumni networks and external college-business connections, means we can help drive and hone essential skills earlier for students and make courses more relevant to industry careers across the board.”
