Estate agent Staves has announced the addition of a new fifth South West Sheffield branch to its growing portfolio of property.
The independently-owned and family run estate agents, which specialises in the sale and letting of residential property, already operates branches in Woodseats, Dore & Totley, Gleadless and Dronfield.
The expansion sees the company, recently voted one of best estate agents in the country by the independently run Best Estate Agent Guide for sellers and landlords, continue its drive for dominance across South West Sheffield for residential buyers, sellers and tenants.
Sheffield’s Wake Smith Solicitors commercial property team advised on the 10-year lease for the new 852 sq ft base, which sits on the corner of Ecclesall Road and Psalter Lane, and was formerly another city estate agents.
The acquisition will allow the firm’s expansion plans to continue apace and it is hoped to increase the already 20-strong team of directors, property consultants and valuers to 24 with four new full-time jobs.
Staves’ director Matthew Staves, who has been in the estate agency business since 1996, said: ““After scoping multiple locations, this premises stood out as the clear choice because of its prime location. The new branch places us in the heart of Sheffield’s busy Ecclesall Road area in a prominent location. Being central to, and supporting our local community, is hugely important to us, and this new branch confirms our commitment to supporting local and keeping our vibrant community alive.
"The office has been completely refurbished with our distinct exterior branding and offers a modern, fresh space inside for our customers.”
Staves’ prides itself on expert local knowledge along with a hands on pro-active approach towards selling and letting property. Its staff have a wealth of experience of the property market and all live within the local area.
Tom Weightman, director in Wake Smith's commercial property team, acted for Staves on the lease. Crosthwaite Commercial was the lettings agent for the landlord.
Tom said: “We have a long established working relationship with Staves through our residential conveyancing team. Staves’ experience in the sector and drive to succeed in the industry, makes for an exciting addition to the central Sheffield property market. We wish him them the best in the new premises.”
Matthew added: “This builds on our relationship with Wake Smith. Tom Weightman was very efficient, gave good advice, was prompt to respond to any queries and highlight matters that needed attention when reviewing the lease.”
National Conveyancing Month 2026 is from 1-31 March. This month-long event aims to highlight the vital role of conveyancers in the home-moving process and will bring together stakeholders across the property industry to inform, educate, assist, and inspire.
