Wake Smith’s corporate work wins Yorkshire award
Corporate legal work by Wake Smith Solicitors for Castings Technology International (CTI) has helped win Deal of The Year (£5m to £25m) category at the Yorkshire Business Insider’s Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2025.
Wake Smith Solicitors’ Rebecca Robinson, Director and Head of Corporate, provided legal advice to CTI on its new £15m investment package, to further its aim of becoming one of the largest Titanium foundries in the world.
Legal work included negotiating the investment documentation, facilities agreement and security documentation. Rebecca was supported by assistant corporate solicitor Joe Creasor who managed the due diligence process with Wake Smith’s director Paul Gibbon providing commercial property advice.
The deal was shortlisted in the Deal of The Year (£5m to £25m) category at awards, which recognises the region’s top transactions, firms and individuals of the year, which took place last night (November 20).
Wake Smith worked with Castle Square Corporate Finance which advised the shareholders on the structured fundraising process, funding negotiations and project managed the transaction process, and with BHP which advised on tax matters.

The new investment facility of £15million from Zachary Asset Holdings, will see Castings Technology, which produces specialised investment castings from a range of alloys for some of the most demanding advanced global manufacturing companies, invest in new premises, equipment, and new jobs.
